Event:

Brexit: Impact on Economy and Trade

Description: Brexit is looming and we still do not know what is going to happen and time is getting uncomfortably short.  Businesses are not able to make normal business decisions and fear for their roles, their businesses and the unknown future.

What are possible likely outcomes over the next six months?  What then in the years that follow, depending on what transpires in March.  Can the worst really happen?  Are we (UK and Europe) really that dysfunctional that two major groups of people cannot work out a feasible solution?

We have created a diverse panel of experts, practitioners from the City and those with links to Westminster to debate the current and expected future position.

Angela Knight CBE – Chair of the Office of Tax Simplification, previous MP for Conservatives, SID for Tullet Prebon
Tim Skeet - ICMA, Bank of China, Investor Working Group and is on the Conservative Group for Europe
Anthony Parry - Senior consultant to Freshfields specialising on Brexit and Africa Free

The Debate will be chaired by the SA Chamber Chairman, Sharon Constançon who has experience in this style of debate through her work in her business life as CEO of Genius Methods, a governance and board evaluation firm.

The Panel will cover issues around the various Brexit outcomes, risks to business in the UK and will address how Africa and South Africa can provide some of the solutions to the UK. The debate will give you unique insights into the thoughts of three diverse, informed minds on the subject  This will give you the opportunity to determine how Brexit might impact you or provide you with opportunities.

The event begins at 18:00 with drinks and networking, followed by the Debate which will allow time for audience questions. There will also be time afterwards to network and discuss the topics with the panellists.

The price of the event to non-members on the door will be £30 inclusive of VAT, pre-registration online is an all-in cost of £24 inclusive of VAT.

To avoid disappointment, we recommend registering and paying in advance as we expect this evening to be over-subscribed.
