| Description: | Lisa MacLeod is Head of Operations for FT.Com and an Associate Editor of the Financial Times. Her role is to work with the editor of FT.Com to manage the strategic, technological and operational requirements of the FT’s successful digital businesses, including the website, tablets and mobile.  Prior to her current role she was Managing Editor, overseeing the staffing, strategic planning and budgetary functions for the FT’s editorial department globally. MacLeod joined the FT in 2003 and has worked on various strategic newsroom integration and reorganisation projects. She also held the position of chief production editor, running the editorial development, support and training functions of the FT as well as overseeing the daily publishing requirements of both the website and newspaper. MacLeod was a production editor and a commissioning editor on the special reports sections. She is a trustee of the Rhodes UK Trust and a board member of the World Editors’ Forum, and recently won the Woman in Business of the Year award from the SA Chamber of Commerce in the UK. Lisa's topic will be on the relentless pace of technological change in the world and how it impacts on media. As always, the speaker address will be followed by delicious canapes and the finest South African wines. |
