SA Chamber of Commerce and Akoni CPD Event: Financial Management for SMEs

Description: Please join us for this, the first in a series of 6 CPD events. One of the Chamber's objectives is to provide practical solutions to issues dealt with on a daily basis. This series aims to provide education to members about specific business topics and will also provide good opportunities to network in small working groups. Please note that although this first event is open to all to attend, the remaining events in the series will be limited to SACC members.

Speakers:
1. Sharon Constancon: Valufin - Forex Risk Management; how to own, manage and monitor FX risk
Many SACC member companies and UK SME import or export goods or services, being one of the lifeblood streams to the UK economy.  Currency rate fluctuations create high levels of stress due to being unexpected, having high impact and not being fully understood.  Forex can often be blamed or credited for results in any given year.  Valufin believes it is important to truly understand what your risks are, how the numbers flow to the balance sheet, what is the correct strategy for your business and how you can protect key levels and create opportunity without equal risk or complex instruments.  We will show you how to manage forex at three levels - strategy and risk control, transactions and instruments, accounting and reporting.

2. Felicia Meyerowitz-Singh: Akoni - Cash Management
Akoni is an online cash management platform system for SMEs, allowing business to maximise their returns on cash deposits. Akoni will talk about cash management in general and then discuss the Akoni platform and how utilising our tools can maximise returns / improve overall business financial management.

3. Paul Surtess & Oliver Cummings: Capitalise - Current lending market and other related trends
Most businesses do not know that there are independent and alternatives to financing options with the high street banks. Capitalise uses in-house technology and data analytics to identify the best financing options available for UK businesses. Capitalise will discuss the current lending market and other related trends.


Registration and breakfast will be available from 8:30 onwards. Talks will begin at 9:00 ending at 11:00 with an opportunity for networking thereafter.
