Agri SA Virtual Congress 2021
|Description: ||Agri SA’s president Pierre Vercueil, hereby cordially invites you to Agri SA’s virtual annual congress to be held on 14 and 15 October 2021.
The agricultural sector has, over decades, demonstrated that it is a resilient industry – a visionary sector which, despite restrictive legislation and the absence of government subsidies, has managed to make a significant contribution to food security and job creation in South Africa, in prosperous and challenging times.
To survive means not to allow setbacks and challenges to get us down. To prosper means to be successful, to grow and, in all spheres, to develop and to lead the way. These are the two building blocks that enabled farmers, farm workers and the agricultural value chain to put shoulder to the wheel despite Covid lockdowns and the many challenges it posed. And to distinguish ourselves as plan-makers, outliers and caring people. Record crops were produced and exports in many sectors are booming.
However, we must not forget that there are still certain areas experiencing serious drought conditions. Devastating fires left us with large scale destruction, while floods caused further hardship. Add to this the recent unrest in KwaZulu-Natal which resulted in billions of rand in damages. The agricultural sector was also affected. However, our resilience, faith, mutual support and caring for all the people of South Africa provided the agricultural sector with the momentum to survive and prosper.
Under the banner of ‘survive and prosper’, Agri SA presents its 2021 congress and we trust that it will contribute to further growth and success in the agricultural sector.
Please note that all guests will receive a link to join the congress a day before the event. Guests will be able to listen in and type questions.
