Evening Speaker Event with Jonny Steinberg - Making Sense of the May Elections: The future of governance and politics in South Africa

Description: Join renowned political analyst and academic Dr. Jonny Steinberg for an evening of post-election analysis, discussion and debate. Questions to be explored will range from what the election result will mean for South African business both at home and abroad to how proposed policy shifts might impact the South African commercial space. 



Jonny Steinberg is an Associate Professor of African Studies and Criminology at Oxford University. Jonny has twice been the recipient of South Africa's premier non-fiction prize, the Sunday Times Alan Paton Award, and was an inaugural winner of the Windham-Campbell Prize for Literature awarded by Yale University. He is the author of several books about everyday life in the wake of South Africa's transition to democracy, including MIDLANDS, about the murder of a white farmer, THE NUMBER, a biography of a prison gangster, and THREE-LETTER PLAGUE, a young man's journey through the AIDS pandemic.
