Through this programme SA Chamber UK will showcase innovators within universities who have ideas which can be turned into solutions; and seed ventures which can be spun out into accelerated enterprises, with prospective; mentors and investors drawn from SA Chamber UK members and their international networks. The series kicks off with Sharon Constançon, Chairman of SA Chamber UK, in conversation with Ajay Lalu, a member of the SA Chamber UK Wealth Creator Project Team, who will give a window into the courage, resilience, and creativity needed to drive a successful innovation journey. Ajay’s story includes the launch of ‘Blacklite’ a sustainable energy Solar Panel industry alternative to Eskom, and the hurdles inevitably placed in his way when seeking to compete with the state funded behemoth, and the people who have benefitted from it. He is a serial entrepreneur and co- founder & director of Q-HOP, owned by Consumption Information Real Time (CIRT), a successful leading-edge South African tech start-up and a global strategic alliance partner to Microsoft Corporation USA.
