Mamba Mentors

Description: mamba-mentors-300x242

On the 29th of April a group of highly motivated South African entrepreneurs will be travelling to the United Kingdom for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet with potential business partners and investors in an effort to cultivate their businesses, create jobs back home and contribute to sustainable economic growth in South Africa.  The International Trade Programme (ITP) – which has been made possible by MEDO (The Micro Enterprise Development Organisation) and BT (British Telecom) Global Services – is the culmination of a highly demanding selection process that was open to hundreds of entrepreneurs from towns, townships and rural areas across the country.

How does it all work?

You’ve got these SA entrepreneurs: people with great ideas, but without ability to really get them off the ground and into the air. And in the UK, there are plenty of South African expats who have brought their skills to a new country and know more about building a successful business than anyone. But the problem is: these two groups of people aren’t talking enough. Great ideas – ideas which could turn into buzzing businesses and which could increase trade between SA and the UK – are just blowing in the wind. When big imports and exports are the focus, the great idea from the small operation doesn’t have the business sense or the clout to get noticed. So let’s bring them together, with Mamba Mentors facilitating the meeting.

The Mentors:
The Mentors are selected based on their entrepreneurial spirit, willingness and suitability to invest and passion for business and trade between South Africa and the UK.
