Demystifying Property Purchasing in the UK

Description: Please note the change of venue to the Institute of Directors, 116 Pall Mall, St. James's, London SW1Y 5ED.

The decision to buy a property is something we all face, but for many, it can be a stressful and scary thought. The stress is further elevated if you are an expat trying to understand the peculiarities of the UK system. This event looks to calm your nerves with an expert panel providing tips and tricks.

Whether you are thinking about buying a first home or looking into ways to accelerate wealth creation through investment, the South African Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Chapter invites you to join us in a night of discussion on the property sector.

We have selected a panel of property experts who are happy to share their experiences and insights to help you build your confidence around purchasing property. Through a fireside chat, we will hear about the current state of the market in the UK, tips on finding & evaluating a property and other key topics that will build your confidence in making a wise investment decision. Two of our panelists are:

Aleksandar Stojakovic- Studio 8FOLD Co-Founder
Aleksandar, co-founder and director of Studio 8FOLD is South African born, residing in London since 2012. During his time at Grimshaw Architects, his interest developed in applying large-scale structural thinking to neighbourhood-scale developments - an interest which has evolved as a result of an architectural education that began in South Africa and continued in London.

Christopher Ellis – Co-Founder and Project Lead at Nutbook Property
Christopher is a co-founder of Nutbook Property which is a family business that he started with his brothers. Nutbrook is a boutique residential developer that builds thoughtfully designed, energy-efficient properties with an exceptional fit-out. Chris’s core interests and his role for the company are on design, engineering and the product side of development. He leads projects from design to tender and all project management responsibilities. Before moving to the UK, he qualified as a mechanical engineer at Stellenbosch.

Following the panel, we encourage you to network with your peers. With a little luck, you may find a co-investor to partner with on your first property venture!

This event is free, but booking is essential.
