Andrew Teacher, founder of Blackstock PR, addressed guests of November’s Breakfast Indaba and discussed the role that civic crowdfunding can play in funding a small business.

Working closely with its founder Chris Gourlay, Andrew helped launch Spacehive in 2012 following months of preparatory work and has spent three years as its policy director helping establish the concept of civic crowdfunding with much success. Spacehive is widely renowned the world over for promoting a new way of getting great ideas done and the business has recently completed new finance raising with plans to further invest in its platform across the UK.

Guests thoroughly enjoyed Andrew’s insights on the practical realities of crowdfunding, as well as using such a venture for broader community gains.
