[London, 16th July 2013] South African Airways (SAA), the most awarded airline on the African continent, has again been declared the most on-time airline in the world. This follows the release of the June 2013 Airline and Airport On-time Performance Report by FlightStats, Inc., the leader in global flight and airport information services.

According to the report, major international airlines on average delivered 75.85% of their flights to the arrival gate within 15 minutes of schedule in June. Only six major international carriers delivered over 90% of their flights on time; with SAA topping the list with 93.33%, outperforming every other carrier from across the world.

At Heathrow, Europe’s busiest airport SAA achieved 87% on-time performance, again ahead of target. ‘It is testament to our people that in such a challenging environment as this, SAA consistently tops the list of the most on-time airlines in the world, providing our customers with professionalism, reliability and award winning customer service,’ said Gary Kershaw, SAA’s General Manager UK & Ireland.
