The South African Chamber of Commerce’s event calendar for 2015 kicked off last night with a stellar first “Chamber Connects” evening, addressed by Pick ‘n Pay founder and former chairman, Raymond Ackerman.  Mr Ackerman spoke on the topic,  Can a company have a soul in modern South Africa? during which he regaled the audience with stories of starting out as a young entrepreneur, his company’s philosophy and anecdotes from his time working with Nelson Mandela on South Africa’s Olympic bid. Mr Ackerman reminded members that business at all levels, can be done with a social conscience. Mr Ackerman then went on the endorse the Chamber and its objectives to promote South Africa and bilateral trade.

With thanks to our board member, Deloitte,  for hosting.
